The Wellington Collection
Unit 17, Saltmills Plaza, 363 Grace Bay Road, Grace Bay, ProvidencialesThe Wellington Collection on Providenciales is a jewelry, art, and gift shop owned and operated by local artisan Wellington Michael Williams.
Williams started making jewelry and creating art as a schoolboy on Providenciales, where he sold multicolored bracelets to his classmates. Today, the born and raised Turks Islander creates many of the products he sells in his shops by getting creative with local conch, larimar from the Dominican Republic, silver, and beach sand from across the islands. His company has a reputation for creating and selling elegant jewelry and gifts at a reasonable price.
The Wellington Collection’s jewelry and crafts are available for sale at several stores across the island and at the Thursday night Fish Fry, where they’re a regular vendor.
Jewelry
Waves, starfish, whale tails, and turtles are a few of the local emblems that The Wellington Collection incorporates into its line of jewelry. They make most of their pieces with sterling silver and a sand-and-resin coating that has become Wellington’s signature. The company’s jewelry, particularly that of its Shoreline Collection, is popular among travelers and locals. The Wellington Collection’s line of sterling silver products includes rings, necklaces, and earrings at reasonable prices, with motif bracelets and necklaces also available that would suit any shoppers on a budget.
Gifts and Crafts
If you’re looking for hardier gifts to bring home, The Wellington Collection produces various home and lifestyle items decorated with their signature blue and white resin pattern. These include tumblers, keychains, bottle openers, wine bottle and cigar holders, water bottles, and more.
Locations on Providenciales
The Wellington Collection’s main gallery operates out of Saltmills Plaza, a retail and professional enclave adjacent to the Regent Village in the heart of Grace Bay on Providenciales. The gallery is conveniently located within walking distance of many hotels in Grace Bay—it can be reached on foot within minutes from Seven Stars Resort, The Ritz-Carlton, Point Grace, and several other resorts.
The company also operates out of two other locations—one on Grace Bay Road at the Grace Bay Car Rentals plaza, and a second in the departures lounge at the Providenciales International Airport. You can buy their products in-store or order them online. Often, you’ll also find the Wellington Collection set up at the Thursday night Fish Fry, a weekly entertainment staple and market that takes place in the Bight community.
