The Beach and Smith’s Reef
Tamarind Villa is beachfront on the beautiful Smith’s Reef beach, which fronts the Turtle Cove community, and is found on the western side of Grace Bay Beach and the Bight Beach.
As its name indicates, Smith’s Reef is an excellent snorkeling site and offers a complex system of reefs. The outer reefs, which is perhaps the finest beach snorkeling reef on the island, is located a short walk to the west from the villa. An extensive shoal reef that shelters turtles, stingrays, and fish leads off the beach fronting the property.
The beach at Smith’s Reef has soft white sand, and the coast near the villa has low rocky coast at the water’s edge. A short distance to the east the rock stops and the beach is solely sand.
