The Patty Place

The Patty Place is a small takeout restaurant and ice cream parlor, located in Grace Bay at La Petite Place near Ports of Call Plaza. The restaurant serves savory meat and vegetarian Jamaican ‘patty’ pastries, as well as Devon House ice cream.
Patty Place is a great place to get a quick and inexpensive light lunch or bite to eat, as most patties are $3 each, with a discount when purchased in larger quantities.
Limited outdoor seating is available in the garden outside. Many of the Grace Bay resorts are within walking distance of Patty Place, including Ports of Call Resort, Seven Stars, Ocean Club West, and Villa del Mar. Ample free parking is located near the restaurant.
Due to the popularity of Patty Place, there’s also another location in the Downtown area.
What is a Patty?
A patty is essentially a personal-sized savory pastry, which may be vegetable, chicken, beef, lobster, cheese, or another flavor. The crust is flaky, similar to a turnover, and pie-like, yet the filling is typically somewhat more blended than other traditional meat pies. Patties often incorporate turmeric, which adds spiciness and a natural yellow color to the food.
Patties are perfect for takeout. They’re best warm, yet are still good when they cool down.
Devon House Ice Cream
Devon House Ice Cream is one of the best-known and most popular ice cream makers in Jamaica and the Caribbean, and Patty Place imports their ice cream from the original source in Jamaica.
Devon House is a popular historical attraction in Kingston in Jamaica, as was the mansion of George Stiebel, that country’s first black millionaire. A café in the courtyard of the property serves the famous ice cream associated with Devon House.
Patty Place imports and serves a wide collection of flavors, from quintessential vanilla and chocolate, to favorites such as Devon Stout, pistachio, coffee, coconut, rum, and many other varieties. Ice cream is served both in cones and cups.

La Petite Place is a small tourism-oriented retail plaza, located in central Grace Bay near Ports of Call Plaza, One Season Plaza, and the Caicos Café Plaza. A few small shops and an ice cream parlor are found here.
