Pontoon Boat Tours and Kayak Rentals
Neptune Villas also provides some great activities on the turquoise waters of Chalk Sound.
The pontoon cruise is a two-hour powerboat tour of the incredible water and landscape of the lagoon. You’ll see the interesting little islands of this national park (some of which support populations of the Turks and Caicos Rock Iguana), and refreshments are included. The excursion stops at a few snorkeling sites for those who’d like to get the underwater experience. Sunset cruises are also available.
Kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are also offered, with hourly rates. There are a few of the Chalk Sound unique tiny limestone islands within a short paddle of the restaurant, which are fun to explore around.
Getting Here and Nearby Attractions
Las Brisas is located near Chalk Sound and South Dock, and is quite easy to find. After turning onto Chalk Sound Drive from South Dock Road (this will be across from the large fuel storage tanks and next to the small Chalk Sound Police Station), continue 1200 feet (0.4 km) to the entrance to Neptune Villas and Las Brisas Restaurant, on your left.
There are some great beaches and sights nearby, so it may make sense to combine visits to these sites with dining at Las Brisas, especially if you’re making the drive from Grace Bay or Leeward.
Sapodilla Bay is found very close to the restaurant, and is a spectacular beach with calm and shallow water. Taylor Bay is likewise another great coast.
The rather small historical site of Sapodilla Bay Hill is worth the visit solely for the spectacular views of South Dock, Chalk Sound, luxury vacation villas, and the surrounding coastlines. Centuries-old rock inscriptions, left by travelers and sailors waiting for their ships, can still be seen in the limestone at the crest of the hill.
Located in Chalk Sound
The Chalk Sound residential region is located on a narrow peninsula of land between the lagoon of the Chalk Sound National Park and the shallow Caicos Banks. Many beautiful homes and luxury vacation villas are found here, as well as the sheltered beaches of Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay.
