The Almond Tree restaurant , located at The Shore Club on Long Bay Beach, offers self-described “creative comfort food” in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Tucked away amid the hustle and bustle of the upscale resort, the restaurant is set in a converted courtyard that feels like a secret garden. Shaded by two large almond trees adorned with fairy lights in the center of the courtyard, the decor is a tasteful mix of modern aesthetic and vintage glamor. Creeping vines scale the walls, mirrors reflect the soft lighting, and lush ferns complement the sandstone walls.

The Menu

The cool, relaxed nature of the space is reflected in the menu, designed by Chef Martin Davies. The restaurant specializes in comfort food with a twist, making for a laid-back dining experience where smart-casual attire is considered appropriate. Classic (and some not-so-classic) wood-fired pizzas are a popular staple on the menu, as is their signature Almond Tree burger.

However, the Old Bay-seasoned shrimp served on creamy, cheesy grits is a firm favorite. Another highly recommended dish is the smoked Texan beef short rib. This slow-braised dish will certainly satisfy any meat lover. For those who prefer vegetarian meal options, the Fungi pizza is an ideal choice, served with lashings of truffle oil and parmesan. Alternatively, there’s the Gratin Normande (or French onion soup). Decadently topped with grilled cheese, diners can wash their meal down with Indian pale ale sourced from the local brewery, Turk's Head Brewery. The IPA, playfully named ‘Down-da-Road’ (island slang for ‘I’m on my way’) provides a bitter note to the sweetness of the onion soup. To complement the familiar-yet-unique menu options, the restaurant also offers an extensive wine list.

For those who prefer cocktails over wine, the Almond Tree has a vast menu of bespoke cocktail creations that may tempt even those who normally stick to beer. There are a number of familiar cocktails to choose from, but the rum, bourbon, and whiskey make the Almond Tree worth a visit even for those who don’t plan on staying for dinner. The maple old fashioned is also a crowd favorite, served under a smoke-ladened cloche. Ordering this cocktail provides a theatrical show in addition to the drink itself as smoke billows out of the glass when the server lifts the cloche. Finally, guests can complement their meal with one of the delectable desserts, such as the Mississippi mud cake. For something lighter, enjoy an elegant espresso martini as a nightcap while soaking in the comfortable ambience.

The Almond Tree is only open for dining from Thursday to Sunday, and reservations are highly recommended due to its exclusive spacing and popularity. Plan a reservation for Saturday evening to catch live music. After dinner, guests can take a slow stroll through the grounds of the exquisite hotel grounds before making their way back home.

The Almond Tree restaurant is located at the upscale Shore Club resort on Long Bay Beach. For travelers who aren’t staying at The Shore Club, getting to the hotel is simple. Long Bay is located on the southwestern shore of Providenciales, and less than a 10-minute drive from central Grace Bay. Taxis from the resort are easily arranged.
